Continuum offers an amazing array of educational opportunities to advance our nurses’ careers. With courses taught within our hospitals, at our nursing school and at the Offices of Continuing Education at Beth Israel and St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, nurses can be sure to find a class that meets their interests, schedules and career needs.
At basic, intermediate and advanced levels, our courses range from half- and full-day onsite recertification classes to Critical Care courses that last two weeks. Nurses can choose from day, evening and weekend classes that cover current medical, surgical or clinical topics, management and personal development, alternative care trends, and a full range of computer instruction. Our courses even draw nurses in from hospitals outside Continuum.
In addition, we have one of the country’s oldest and most venerable Nursing Schools within our health partnership. Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing (PBISON) is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and is committed solely to the education of nurses. Affiliated with other city institutions of higher learning (such as New York University, Pace University and St. Francis College), they offer Continuum Graduate nurses even more educational opportunities, including the ability to apply existing credits towards a B.S. degree.
